Documentation centre

The role of UIC’s Documentation Centre is to collect, catalogue, distribute and store documentation related to international rail transport and associated fields (transport policy, environment, energy, telecommunications...)

Presentation

The Documentation Centre has been computerised since 1992, and its Raildoc Database contains over 25,000 references and more than 3,500 digital documents.

The document collection consists of over 5,000 documents (reports, studies, congress proceedings, statistics, normative documents, etc.), over 1,500 annual company reports and 1,500 research reports.

The Documentation Centre has over 130 titles in its collection of transport-related periodicals (mostly on rail transport).

The Centre regularly produces thematic bibliographies in the framework of its own activities and international cooperation.

The Centre is also responsible for co-ordinating international co-operation work between the documentary units (libraries, documentation centres, records departments, photographic libraries, media libraries, etc.) of all member railways of UIC’s Information Management Professionnals Group (former Documentation Group).

Contacts

The Documentation Centre is not open to the public, but can supply thematic bibliographies or fact books on specific subjects on request.
